getCarrierAuthority | Operating authority status (common/contract/broker) and insurance on file. |
getCarrierOOS | Current out-of-service orders against the carrier. |
getCrashes | Crash records (all-time). Filter by date range and report state; returns fatalities, injuries, tow-away, hazmat placard. |

Setup

Toggle Connector On
Open /mcp and enable FMCSA Carrier Safety with the toggle, no credentials needed.

Call searchCarriersByName to resolve a hauler's DOT number, then pull getCarrierByDOT for the safety snapshot and getCrashes for crash history.

Open Claude settings
Launch Claude, click the profile button (bottom left), and go to Settings.

Access connectors
Open the Connectors tab, scroll to the bottom, and click “Add custom connector”.

Enter any name you’d like for this connector.

Get the connector URL
Log in to PatchOps, open the /mcp page, and copy the connector URL you want to use.

Paste the URL into the “Remote MCP server URL” box and click Add.
