`searchWells`	LA O&G wells, filter by parish, operator, status (LEGEND_DES), productType, bbox, near.
`getWellByApi`	Single-well lookup by 14-digit API number, returns full record + sonrisLink deep-link.
`searchFields`	LA Oil and Gas Fields polygons (~11K). FIELDNAME only, no parish/operator upstream.
`searchSaltDomes`	LA salt domes, Avery Island, Bayou Corne, etc. LA-specific caverns + sour gas risk.
`searchInjectionWells`	LA injection / storage / service wells (~4.5K). Filter by parish, operator, type.
`getServiceInfo`	Schema, fields, and record counts for any of the 4 LA SONRIS services.

About

Louisiana SONRIS / DNR (rebranded to DCE, the Department of Conservation & Energy) public data service covering oil & gas. Filter ~245,450 wells by parish, operator, status (mapped via LEGEND_DES, the human-readable label, since WELL_STATU is opaque numeric codes like '03' or '29'), or product type (oil/gas/injection). Salt domes (174) are LA-specific: caverns, sour gas storage, SPR. Oil & gas fields (~11K polygons) carry FIELDNAME only, with no parish or operator. Injection / storage / service wells (~4.5K) include type, status, and operator. The legacy native agency host data service is now 404 (LA rebranded DNR to DCE), so the working data lives on public data mirrors. Parishes returned in Title Case (LA SALLE becomes La Salle). The SONRIS production database is browser-session only, so wells include `sonrisLink` for downstream UIs to deep-link.

Get started

Enable Energy APIs
Set ENABLE_ENERGY_APIS=true for your deployment.

Toggle Connector On
Open /mcp and turn on Louisiana SONRIS under Energy connectors.

Start Querying
Call the la-sonris MCP tool, start with method=searchWells or method=searchSaltDomes.

Open Claude settings
Launch Claude, click the profile button (bottom left), and go to Settings.

Access connectors
Open the Connectors tab, scroll to the bottom, and click “Add custom connector”.

Name your connector
Enter any name you’d like for this connector.

Get the connector URL
Log in to PatchOps, open the /mcp page, and copy the connector URL you want to use.

Add the connector
Paste the URL into the “Remote MCP server URL” box and click Add.

Start using
Your Louisiana SONRIS / DNR connector is ready to use in Claude.
