Setup
A few steps to connect your AI agents to EPA AQS Air Quality.

Register for Free Credentials
Request a free key at https://aqs.epa.gov/data/api/signup — EPA emails you a key tied to your email address.

Add Credentials in /mcp
Open the EPA AQS connector card and submit your EPA_AQS_EMAIL and EPA_AQS_KEY.

Start Querying
Call getAqsMonitors or getAqsData with a 2-digit state FIPS (e.g. '48'), an AQS parameter code (e.g. '44201'), and a YYYYMMDD date range.
Connect to your AI assistant
Pick the tool your team uses for the exact setup steps.

Open Claude settings
Launch Claude, click the profile button (bottom left), and go to Settings.

Access connectors
Open the Connectors tab, scroll to the bottom, and click “Add custom connector”.

Name your connector
Enter any name you’d like for this connector.

Get the connector URL
Log in to PatchOps, open the /mcp page, and copy the connector URL you want to use.

Add the connector
Paste the URL into the “Remote MCP server URL” box and click Add.
