`searchWells`	AL canonical wells (~2.89K). Filter county Title Case (Mobile/Escambia/Baldwin), operator, status code, wellType code, field, region (SW/OFFSHORE/SE/BWB).
`searchBottomHoles`	Bottom-hole locations (~409 lean points). Filter permit/apiNumber/status/wellType + bbox/near. No operator/well-name on this layer.
`searchOffshorePlatforms`	Offshore structures in Alabama (~35 platforms, Mobile Bay Norphlet gas play). Filter operator, type, tract.
`getWellByPermit`	Single well lookup by Permit (e.g. '1000') or API number (e.g. '01-097-19778-00-00').
`getServiceInfo`	Schema, record counts, and enum values for any of the 5 services.

About

Alabama State Oil & Gas Board inventory served from the agency data services (CMP/Natural_Resources/data services). Five curated layers: Layer 28 Complete oil and gas well inventory (~2,890 wells with structured fields Permit/API/WellName/Operator/FieldName/PoolName/WellStatus/WellType/CountyName/SecNum/Township/Range/PermitDate/SpudDate/FirstProdu); Layer 35 Well bottomhole locations (~409 lean BH points, no operator or well-name); Layer 36 Offshore structures (~35 platforms with Operator/Type/Structure/Tract); Layer 37 Alabama lease blocks (~355 polygons); Layer 32 Field units (~165 producing-horizon polygons). The data services also serves Mississippi (39-43) and Florida (45-50) data, so the handler scopes only to the Alabama group (parentLayerId 27). Top counties: Mobile 1,116 (39%), Escambia 848, Baldwin 400, Clarke 177, with 81% of records in 5 counties. Region distribution: SW (Mobile/Escambia/Baldwin) 2,803 (97%), OFFSHORE 82, SE 3, BWB 2. A Mobile-OS / Baldwin-OS suffix marks offshore wells. Section 0 spec drift caught: the build-plan brief said 'layer 39', but that is actually Mississippi data on the same data services. AL wells are at layer 28. Field labels are confusing upstream: WellStatus is a 2-letter code (DA/PA/PR/CA/CV/TA/UN/AC/SI/PB), TypeDesc is the descriptive STATUS string ('Dry and Abandoned', 'Producing'); WellType is the product code (OIL/UN/GC/GAS/WI/SWD/GI/GS/WS), and StatusDesc is the descriptive TYPE ('Oil', 'Gas Condensate', 'Water Disposal'). Last verified live 2026-05-07.
